EVmatch and CEC Providing Grants for Free EV Charging Stations at Multi-Family Properties

EVmatch will use the funding to install 120 publicly available Level 2 EV charging stations – currently the most affordable charging option available – with EVmatch’s unique reservation-based sharing software at multi-family properties throughout Santa Clara, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties.

Properties are eligible to receive up to 6 charging stations that are available to the public and operational for a minimum of 5 years. This is an excellent opportunity for multi-family properties to boost onsite amenities, increase net operating income, and improve property value.

Multi-family program participants in Santa Clara County, Los Angeles County, and San Diego County can install and operate 4-6 EV chargers for 5 years—FOR FREE.

What Does The Grant Cover?

1. Installation & engineering costs (maximum of $5,000 per port)
2. EV charging stations and mounting hardware
3. EVmatch charging management software for first 5 years
4. Electrical permitting fees

This is a competitive and time-sensitive EV charging grant opportunity. EVmatch will select multi-family properties based on variety of criteria including, but not limited to:

• Public access availability schedule
• Building size, location, and classification
• Current demand for EV charging, especially from apartment dwellers and nearby rideshare drivers
• Electrical capacity and shared parking availability

EVmatch will review applications on the 15th of each month on a rolling basis until all grants have been awarded. If you are ready to submit one or multiple properties for grant consideration, complete this grant application form with specific details about the building(s) and EV charging demand. 

What EV charging stations are available through this program?

Eligible hardware is the Enel X JuiceBox Level 2 charging station, equipped with the universal J1772 plug, which is compatible with all EV models. EVmatch software is integrated with the JuiceBox to provide site hosts with enhanced security and remote access control.
